I know how difficult it can be to struggle with chronic pain or tinnitus that feels traumatic.
I was practically disabled for two years by unrelenting testicular pain.
I later spent a couple of years trying to get a handle on a case of sudden-onset tinnitus.
There is so much to investigate when you get hit with problems like these. I went deep into research rabbit holes both times, and I’m here to tell you now that in many cases, you can ditch the anxiety and the pain (or the noise) without surgery, devices, or drugs (all of which can all bring new problems with them). This is the result of the extensive reading I did on both topics.
I’m not here to bullshit you though. The process can take time and requires some effort on your part – and the way I went about it may not be the best way for you. My role as coach and consultant is not to tell you what to do (I’m not a therapist), but to help you decide what’s best for you and support you in meeting the goals you set.
And I am very much committed to your success.
Before I was a coach, I
● Grew up in Louisiana, and earned a BA from LSU.
● Spent a couple of years helping people polish resumes and find work.
● Moved to China (Shenzhen) to work at a medical device factory as a marketing manager.
● Moved to Shanghai, where I have now lived for 18 years.
● Spent 17 years as a middle/high school history teacher at an international school.
● Spent a few years juggling teaching responsibilities with coach training and some difficult personal trials (including tinnitus).
I would have begun coaching much earlier had I known that such a profession existed. Instead, I was intrigued by the opportunity to not just see China, but live and work there…and I fell in love with the place. I didn’t learn about coaching until 2017, when I was considering graduate schools to pursue a degree in counseling. Once I realized that I had been coaching students and parents for years without knowing it, I knew that if I really wanted to help people in more meaningful ways and do so full time, I’d need to stop teaching at some point. Once I did, I found coaching to be my ikigai… and I’ve found that there’s a lot I gain by getting you to success. You can read more about my approach here.
So whether you have:
● a new case of pain or tinnitus and want to be smart in how you handle it,
● a long-standing case of pain or tinnitus that you’re fed up with
● multiple pain issues
● other challenges that have you feeling overwhelmed, whether you have pain or not (because I coach and consult on other topics I have experience with too)
… Then you’re in the right place. Let’s work together, using my firsthand experience and evidence-based approaches, to help you get relief and/or a better quality of life.
